September 23 – Tom Athanasiou on the plenary panel on Climate Justice at Civicus World Assembly in Montreal.  Athena Ballesteros (Manager, International Financial Flow and the Environment Project,World Resources Institute) was the moderator, and the lineup was Tom Athanasiou, Executive  Director of EcoEquity in the USA, Judith Pasimio, Executive Director of the Legal Rights Centre in the Philippines, Steven Guilbeault, Deputy Director, Equiterre in Canada, and Kumi Naidoo, Executive Director, Greenpeace International.  The video of the panel is available here.  Pick it up at the 9:35 mark

February 24 — “After Copenhagen” presentation to graduate environmental studies students at the Monterrey Institute for International Studies.   Tom Athanasiou.

January 19 — Post-Copenhagen debrief in Berkeley with speakers from EcoEquity, 350.org, International Rivers, and the Rainforest Action Network.  Tom Athanasiou spoke for EcoEquity.   Hundreds of people came!

September 12, 2009 — Sivan Kartha responds on panel to presentations by Ottmar Edenhofer (of Potsdam Institute for Climate Impacts Research) and Cao Jing (Professor at Tsingua University) on climate policy and equity, in Beijing.

September 11, 2009 — Professor Fan Gang (Tsinghua University) presents his Modified GDRs (M-GDRs) framework at a symposium on Economic Development and the Low Carbon Economy convened by the China Economist 50 Forum, attended by senior Chinese  economists, the Swedish Environment Minister, Lord Stern and others.

August 7 — Presentation at the Adelaide offices of the  investment committee of Local Super, a pension fund for employees of local government in South Australia and Northern Territory.   Tom Athanasiou

August 4 — Sivan Kartha speaks on WAMU radio (Washington, DC) on the Kojo Nnamdi show featuring Greenhouse Development Rights, with Fiona Harvey (environment correspondent for the Financial Times) commenting.

June 23 — Sivan Kartha delivered a lecture at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University.

June 23 — Paul Baer appeared on a panel on “Copenhagen Architecture” at the Global Humanitarian Forum‘s 2009 meeting in Geneva, “The Human Impact of Climate Change.” Co-panelists included José Romero of the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment and Halldor Thogeirsson from the UNFCCC Secretariat. June 16 — Sivan Kartha appeared on a public panel on “Climate Change: A fair deal for developing countries” chaired by Joe Stiglitz at Manchester University, along with co-panelists Mohan Munasinghe (IPCC vice-chair) and Kevin Anderson (research director at the Tyndall Centre).

June 17-18 — Sivan and Paul joined a Task Force on Climate Change convened by Joe Stiglitz. This small, intensive workshop, themed “North-South negotiations on burden sharing, technology transfer and finance for climate change“, took place at Manchester University in the UK.

Dec  5  — GDRs presentation (focusing on implications for the US) at the SEI symposium in Boston.  (Eric Kemp-Benedict).

Nov 15-16  — IFG strategy meeting on Copenhagen’s economic architecture (Tom Athanasiou).
